Yoga4Cancer supports cancer survivors with oncology yoga and shows the research behind this practice. Yoga teachers can take online courses and become certified in oncology yoga. Yoga4Cancer includes a directory of these teachers.
When a teacher in training becomes a certified oncology yoga teacher, they can add their profile, which includes their bio and their yoga certifications. We use a Gravity Form that includes the GeoLocation add on; this allows us to calculate mileage. The teacher’s street address is not shown. GF File Upload Pro allows teachers to upload a profile photo.
Submissions from the form could require an admin approval. Since these are teachers we have been working with, we allow for automatic approval. Potential students search for yoga teachers based on location and language spoken. Teachers are based in many different countries.
Gravity View is a great product that allows Gravity Form entries to be displayed in a directory. An instructor needs to “opt in” to the directory. The Gravity View – Maps add on allows us to display a world map of teachers. This is another way to search for a yoga instructor near you.
What if an instructor needs to add online classes or needs to update their bio? Gravity View is helpful here also. In their account, the instructor can “View my teacher profile”. If there is anything they need to update, they can choose “Edit Entry” at the bottom of the page. The Gravity View setting “Allow User Edit” ensures that instructors can edit their own profiles.
We use the DIY add-on to display the teacher profiles, both their own and others when a potential student is searching.
