Divi Theme Not So Fast

I’ve been using the Divi theme for several years. I had read that it does very well on Google PageSpeed Insights but had not spent time doing the testing myself.

It started out innocently enough. I was going to analyze the speed of several websites on standard goDaddy hosting. My hunch was that dedicated WordPress hosting would be a better deal for those clients going forward.

With the Divi theme and Yoast SEO plugin, I received PageSpeed insights of 62 and 70 for mobile and desktop respectively.

The Better WordPress Minify plugin got me scores of 66 and 72, a good improvement. Adding GZip Ninja Speed Compression did not clear the recommendation to add compression, but did bump both scores up by 1 to 67 and 73.

More tests coming soon…
