Carol Brown is the founder and executive director of Equipping Minds, a cognitive development learning company. Her curriculum was recently shown to improve cognitive abilities in children with learning issues.

Carol hosts a conference every spring for educators and parents. She needed a new method for conference registration. Carol was already using wooCommerce for her website shop. I looked into Tickets for WooCommerce, which is actually a Modern Tribe extension.  I think this would have worked well.  The extension is $89.

I also found FooEvents on CodeCanyon. It was cheaper ($29), had excellent ratings and was recently updated. I’ve been very happy with this choice.  Event tickets are added as a new wooCommerce product.  The plugin adds a new product type “event” which allows date and time to be added.  Tickets are listed nicely in the WordPress Dashboard with their payment status.  Confirmation email is also managed by this plugin.

We recently upgraded the Equipping Minds website from an older theme Lucid to Divi.  We are using WooCommerce Table Rate Shipping for domestic and global shipping.  Equipping Minds has many non-profit clients; the Woocommerce Super Simple Tax Exemption has been a simple plugin that allows us to capture this information.
